    General Information General Information About the Manual The instructions within this manual will help you in administering and main- taining the optiPoint 600 office. The instructions contain important infor- mation for safe and proper operation of the optiPoint 600 office. Follow them carefully to avoid improper operation and get the most out of your multi-function telephone in a network environment.

An operation at hubs can cause serious P0/E malfunctions in the hub and in the whole network. The Western plugs of all cable connections must audibly snap into place.

    Setting Up the Telephone Preparing for Operation When the optiPoint 600 office is connected via (with or without LAN connection) no fur- P0/E ther configuration is neccessary. When the optiPoint 600 office is connected via HFA with an existing DHCP server, only the IP address of the HiPath 3000/4000 and the Call Number of the phone have to be entered.
