A nanoe is a nano-sized ion particle coated with water particles.
This product is intended for household use only.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug cannot be inserted fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
This appliance is also provided with an ALCI protective device that may make the appliance inoperable under some abnormal conditions (such as immersion of the appliance). If the appliance becomes inoperable, return the appliance to a service center for examination and repair. Each time the appliance is used, check the safety plug to verify it is in proper working order. Plug the appliance in an electrical outlet and press the test button. The hair dryer should stop immediately. To resume operation, press the reset button.
This hair dryer is equipped with an automatic overheating protective device. If the hair dryer overheats, it will switch to cool air mode. Switch off the hair dryer and unplug it from the household outlet. Allow it to cool down for a few minutes before using it again. Check that no fluff, hair etc. is in the air inlets and outlets before switching it on again.
The thermostat will automatically reset.
Concentrator nozzle
Focuses and concentrates airflow for precise hair styling.
Oscillating quick-dry nozzle
Delivers strong and soft airflows for fast drying. Automatically moves to prevent hot spots for more gentle drying.
Attach the oscillating quick-dry nozzle so this air outlet is vertical.
Diffuser
For creating full-bodied hair with lots of volume and styling
Always check that the filter is securely attached before using.
Notes
Note
Oscillating quick-dry nozzle may not function properly at low power mode ("LOW").
(nanoe, generation method: high voltage discharge) nanoe is generated by collecting the available moisture in the air, so depending on the usage environment, nanoe may not be generated. In environments of low temperature and low humidity, moisture in the air becomes difficult to collect. When this occurs, negative ions are generated. nanoe is ion wrapped in water that are invisible to the human eye.
Generally hair has properties which make it easy to become positively charged with electricity. These properties attract strongly negatively charged nanoe which penetrates the hair with moisture. Furthermore, they make the hair slightly acidic, tighten cuticles and keep your hair strong, elastic and healthy.
When nanoe continues to strike hair, hair becomes negatively charged. As a result, the nanoe and negatively charged hair repel each other, making it difficult for nanoe to reach hair. With the nanoe Charge System, by just gripping the panel together with the handle, the negative charge accumulated on hair is released. Because of this, nanoe continues to penetrate into hair, supplying moisture and thoroughly moistening down to the tips of hair.
Always turn the power switch off and disconnect the plug from the household outlet. (Except when performing maintenance on the air outlet)
Do this when dirty
To clean the hair dryer (when it is dirty), soak a cloth in the soapy water and squeeze it out firmly, then wipe with the cloth.
Notes
Clean the air inlet once a month or over.
Problem | Possible cause | Action |
It switches frequently to cold air while using in "HOT" mode, or sparks can be seen within the body. (These sparks are caused by the thermostat switch, the protective device, and this is not dangerous.) | Lint has accumulated on the air inlet or air outlet. Hair or something is blocking the air inlet. | Remove accumulated lint. Do not block the air inlet. |
The hot air is abnormally hot | ||
The power plug is abnormally hot | The connection to the household outlet is loose. | Use a household outlet that fits securely. |
Sparks are generated inside the nanoe outlet | Abnormality caused by a dirty electrode (needle portion). | Perform maintenance of the nanoe outlet. |
The nanoe outlet emits a crackling noise |
If the problems still cannot be solved, contact the store where you purchased the unit or a service center authorized by Panasonic for repair.

If YOU MUST USE YOUR HAIR DRYER IN THE BATHROOM, INSTALL A GFCI* NOW!
Your local electrician can help you decide which type is best for you- a portable unit that plugs into the electrical outlet or a permanent unit installed by your electrician. The National Electrical Code now requires GFCI's in the bathrooms, garages, and outdoor outlets of all new homes.
WHY DO YOU NEED A GFCI?
Electricity and water don't mix. If your hair dryer falls in water while it's plugged in, the electric shock can kill you...even if the switch is "off". A regular fuse or circuit breaker won't protect you under these circumstances. A GFCI offers you far greater protection.
A GFCI can save your life! Compared to that, the price is small!! Don't wait...install one now!
*GFCI is a sensitive device which reacts immediately to a small electric current leak by stopping the electricity flow.
When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING
KEEP AWAY FROM WATER
As with most electrical appliances, electrical parts are electrically live even when the switch is off.
To reduce the risk of death by electric shock:
To reduce the risk of burns, electrocution, fire, or injury to persons:
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
To reduce the risk of injury, loss of life, electric shock, fire, and damage to equipment or property, always observe the following safety precautions.

Some parts of the safety precaution illustrations differ from the actual product.
Do not keep within the reach of children.
Do not let them use the appliance.
Never modify, disassemble, or repair.
Do not damage the cord or plug.
Do not use with the cord bundled.
Do not wrap the cord tightly around the main body when storing.
Do not store or use the cord in a twisted state.
Do not use when the power plug or cord is damaged or hot.
Never use the appliance if the power plug fits loosely in a household outlet.
Do not connect or disconnect the power plug to a household outlet with a wet hand.
Do not use the appliance with a wet hand.
Do not leave the area with the power switch left on.
Do not store the appliance in a bathroom or location with high humidity. Also, do not place in a location where water may spill (such as top of a vanity).
Do not block, or insert hair pins or other foreign objects into the air inlet, air outlet, or nanoe outlet.
Do not use in proximity of flammable materials (such as alcohol, benzine, thinner, spray, hair care product, nail polish remover).
Do not immerse the appliance in water.
Do not use this hair dryer near water.
Do not use this hair dryer near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water.
Immediately stop using and remove the power plug if there is an abnormality or failure.
<Abnormality or failure cases>
Use the household outlet alone: do not use with an extension cord.
Fully insert the power plug into a household outlet.
Always ensure the appliance is operated on an electric power source matched to the rated voltage indicated on the appliance.
If you see sparks around the air outlet while using the hot air setting, stop use and remove the lint on the air outlet and air inlet.
Always turn OFF the power switch and disconnect the power plug from the household outlet after use.
Disconnect the power plug by holding onto it instead of pulling on the cord.
Regularly clean the power plug to prevent dust from accumulating.
When the hair dryer is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents a hazard even when the hair dryer is switched off.
For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
