    Getting started Inserting the SIM card/battery The service provider supplies you with a SIM card that stores all the important data for your connection.     • To remove the battery, press the inner clips one after another and lift the battery from the right edge of the phone. • To replace the back cover, hook the clips onto the hinges on the bottom of the phone the cover down catches.

    Switch on/off, PIN entry Switching phone on/off Press and hold. Entering the PIN The SIM card can be protected with a 4-8 digit PIN. Enter the PIN using the number keys. The charac- ters appear as sure that nobody else can read your PIN code on the display.

    General information Standby mode The phone is in Standby mode and is ready for use when the name of the service provider appears on the display. Press briefly to return (long press switches the phone off). You can re- turn to the standby mode from any situation.

    Text input with T9 "T9" combines the correct word from the various key inputs. Activate/deactivate T9. Write with T9 It is best if you finish a word without looking at the display. You simply press the keys where the relevant letter is located once. A blank space or moving to the right ends the word.

    Calling Enter the number (always with dialling code/inter- national dialling code). A short press clears the last digit, a long press clears the entire phone number. Dial the phone number. End call Press the End key briefly. Set volume —˜ Use volume keys to regu- late the volume.

    Additional information Accept the call before bringing the phone to your ear in order to avoid ear damage caused by the ringtones.
