Safety precautions Power Outage: In the event of a power outage, your cordless telephone will not operate. The cordless tele- phone requires electricity for operation. You should have a telephone that does not require electricity available for use during power outages. VoIP service may not work during a power outage, or when the Internet connection fails or becomes overloaded.
